This teaching style places emphasis on gentle supported alignment, and utilizes the breath with movement. The basic yoga poses introduced are:
* Breathing awareness and deep relaxation for energy and renewal
* Seated poses for a healthy back, poise, and reflection
* Forward bends for calming and nurturing the mind and body
* Standing poses for flexibility, strength, and stamina
* Inverted poses for circulation and stress reduction
These poses are introduced in a gradual and progressive manner. Props utilized are belts, blankets, mats, chairs, massage tables, walls, virtually any stable surface such that students of every physical ability can have access to practice. Becky is interested in assisting the student to develop what she considers to be the application of poses to work, home, and other environments. Becky has been a yoga practitioner for over 35 years and a teacher for 15 years. She is a current member of the Michigan Yoga Association. fee: All Classes Drop-In, $5.00

Ongoing Sitting Meditation: Sound & Silence

Meditation time will be divided into four 10-15 minute intervals of silence. inter-spaced with short contemplative reading, vocal or instrumental sound. Poets Conrad Hilberry and Jack Ridl have been dear friends for 30 years and are two of Michigan's literary treasures. Their distinct and rich poetic voices span their long friendship and respective Michwestern teaching careers. Transformations presents a special opportunity to hear them read together. Join us for a poetic dialogue exploring the spiritual journey in the creative work of these two poets, familiar to many in our community for their big hearts, great humor, and powerful rendering of our ordinary and extraordinary lives. The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous continue to sustain, energize and enlighten us in our recovery journeys. This retreat is designed for women actively working a 12-step recovery program in AA. We will examine these spiritual and challenging steps as they affect our lives within and outside of our recovery programs. We frequently refer to our respective recoveries as a MIRACLE. Time will be provided for prayer, quiet, writing, reflection and rest. Thoughout all of the above we will enjoy fellowship held together by laughter. Send a $60 non-refundable deposit by March 13 to reserve your space at the discounted rate. After March 13, the non-refundable deposit is increased to $75.00 and the balance of $120 is due on arrival. This includes private guest room and bathroom, meals, snacks, materials and retreat.
